Thank you for choosing to use Face Swap (hereinafter referred to as "the App"). Face Swap lets you place your own face into a library of photo templates to generate fun portrait images. This Privacy Policy is intended to inform you about how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information — in particular the photos you provide. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using the App.
1. Information We Collect and Process
1.1 Photos You Provide for Face Swapping
To generate a face-swapped image, you select a photo that contains your face from your photo library. We handle this photo as follows:
- Your selected photo is transmitted over an encrypted connection solely to generate the face-swapped result you requested.
- The photo is used only to perform the generation you requested. It is not used to train any machine learning models.
- Your source photo is not permanently stored on our servers; it is discarded after the generation task completes.
- If delivering a result takes longer than the App's immediate waiting window, the generated result is temporarily relayed on our server and is automatically deleted within 24 hours.
- Generated works are automatically saved to the App's local works library. They are added to your system photo library only when you explicitly choose to save them. We do not keep a permanent cloud copy of your works.
1.2 On-Device Face Detection
Before a photo can be used, the App checks it with Google's ML Kit face detection, which runs entirely on your device:
- Only the position of the detected face (bounding box) and a confidence score are computed, locally.
- No facial geometry data or biometric identifiers are extracted, stored, or transmitted by the App itself.
1.3 Anonymous Session Information
The App does not require registration. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other direct identifier. Instead, the App creates an anonymous, device-specific session token on first launch, which is stored securely on your device and used only to recognize your session, manage your quota, and restore your purchases.
1.4 Purchase and Subscription Data
Subscriptions are processed by Apple as our payment provider, together with RevenueCat for subscription management. We receive information about your subscription status (such as whether you have an active plan or trial) and your remaining usage quota. We never receive your full payment card details.
1.5 Usage Analytics and Crash Reports
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous usage data, including:
- Number of App launches and frequency of feature usage
- Crash reports and technical diagnostic information
This data is anonymous, does not include your photos, and does not contain personally identifiable information.
2. How We Use Information
We use the collected information solely for the following purposes:
- To generate the face-swapped images you request
- To manage your subscription status and usage quota
- To improve App performance and user experience
- To diagnose and fix technical issues
3. Third-Party Services
To operate the App, we rely on the following third-party services. Each receives only the information necessary to perform its function:
- Cloudflare: hosts our backend service and template assets
- Replicate: performs the AI-based face swap generation on the photo you submit for a specific request
- RevenueCat: manages subscriptions and purchase entitlements
- Google Firebase: provides anonymous analytics and crash reporting
These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information or your photos to anyone.
4. Data Storage, Retention, and Security
- All locally stored data (saved works, preferences, and the anonymous session token) remains on your device
- Data transmitted between the App and our backend is encrypted in transit
- Generation results that require temporary server relay are automatically deleted within 24 hours
- Your source photos are not kept after the requested generation completes
5. Your Rights
You may at any time:
- Revoke photo library access through system settings
- Delete saved works within the App or your photo library
- Delete the App to remove all data stored on your device
- Contact us with privacy-related questions or requests
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Privacy Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be announced within the App or on our website.
