This Privacy Policy explains how Media Compressor (the "App") handles the photos, videos and related information that you select for compression.
In short: All compression of the photos and videos you select takes place entirely on your device. The developer never uploads your photos, videos or compression results to any server.
The App does not require account registration and the developer does not collect personal information for advertising, tracking or analytics purposes.
When you open the App's custom PhotoKit library browser, the App accesses the photos and videos within the scope you authorize to display thumbnails and basic media information. Full-resolution media is requested only for items you select. If you grant limited photo library access, the App can access only the items allowed by iOS. Items imported from the Files app are accessed using a security-scoped reference for the duration of the task only.
If a selected item is stored in iCloud and is not currently available on your device, Apple's Photos framework may download it from iCloud so the App can process it locally. This transfer is handled by Apple under your iCloud settings and Apple's privacy terms; the App does not upload the item to the developer's servers.
To produce smaller copies, the App processes your selected items on-device and may temporarily read the following technical details:
These details are used only to perform compression on your device and are not stored, transmitted or used for any other purpose.
If you choose to save a compressed copy back to your photo library, the App asks for permission to add photos and videos. Saving happens only when you perform the action, and you can change this permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Any one-time in-app purchase is processed by Apple's App Store and StoreKit. The developer never receives your credit card or banking details. The App checks only the entitlement state provided by Apple, which is necessary to deliver and restore the purchased features. For Apple's handling of this information, please review Apple's privacy policy.
The selected photos, videos and processing information generated on-device are used only to provide the following features:
The App does not transmit your photos, videos, compression results or processing information to any server operated by the developer or third parties, and does not sell or share them with third parties.
If you explicitly use the system Share feature, the selected items may be passed to the destination you choose (for example an email or messaging app). After that, the privacy policy of the destination service applies.
The App may contain links to external pages for support, privacy policy, terms of use or similar purposes. Once you open an external site, the policy of that site applies to how information is handled there.
You can take the following actions at any time:
The App is intended for general use. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App.
By keeping all photo and video processing on-device, the App minimizes any opportunity for your media to be transmitted externally. However, no device, operating system or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please use appropriate safeguards such as a device passcode and keeping the operating system up to date.
The developer may update this policy as the App's features, the technologies it uses, or legal requirements change. When important changes occur, they will be announced on this page or within the App. The update date is shown at the top of this page.
